Grand Rapids, Michigan

My beloved hometown has been in the news quite a bit lately with the passing of Gerald Ford. It's very odd to think a president will be burried next to the Grand River. I'm watching live shots of the museum as I write this. It makes me all very homesick, if I weren't already. It's quite refreshing for me to hear people talk over and over about how Grand Rapids helped make Ford an honorable man, etc. I'm pretty much used to people here saying not so flattering things about where I'm from, or at the very least having some exaggerated view of how much snow we get or they're surprized to hear we have indoor plumbing. I'm proud of where I came from. Texans, however, are entirely too proud of where they come from. I really miss home.

Speaking of homesick, I'm also just plain sick. I had a horrible asthma attack last night. I woke up from a nap sick as a dog. I could barely breathe so I took a hot shower and that helped some but one can't stay in the shower all night. So my dear husband went out to get me a humidifier. It's a froggy and he keeps me company. I stayed home from work today with the froggy. Here he is. He's keeping me company while Blaine's at work. Isn't he cute?

I hope everyone had a wonderful Christmas and New Year. This was the first year I didn't make any sort of attempt to stay up til midnight. I guess that means I'm old.
