Yesterdog: The Documentary

Just in case I hadn't posted enough videos, enjoy this trailer for Yesterdog: The Documentary!

I have countless memories of this beloved hangout.  One thing I missed out on was going there after the bar.  I don't think I ever have.  Though... maybe I don't remember.  I did go there on my 30th birthday which was the last night I had a drink.  We went to a fancy tapas place and Blah had to go out for a real dinner afterwards.  I believe I even carved my name/initials in the wall.  

Blah would recommend the Cheddar, but I prefer the Yester.  If you're not into eating meat, there's always the Veggie.  Get there early for the corner booth if you've got a bunch of friends.

My Poor Eastown!

Earlier this week my beloved college/adulthood stomping grounds were rocked by a gas leak that exploded one building.  Luckily, no one was seriously hurt.  And luckily my beloved Yesterdog was spared.  The building that blew up was right across the beautiful brick street.  It makes me very sad.  The building that went was a two story that had several small businesses in it.  For a while it had a cool record shop called Eastunes but that was really the only thing I ever frequented there.  Mostly, it's just very sad for me to see part of that neighborhood destroyed.

   This is the only decent picture I can find of the building that is no more.  

And here it is now from the opposite angle.  Notice how close Yesterdog is.  Yesterdog not only has the best dogs in any town ever, but is where Blah & I had our rehearsal dinner.  Good times.  If you're ever in Grand Rapids, I highly recommend the Cheddar.  Be sure to check out their website so you know how to order first.
