Light of the World

Ye are the light of the world. A city that is set on a hill cannot be hid. Neither do men light a candle and put it under a bushel, but on a candlestick; and it giveth light undto all that are in the house. Let your light so shine before men, that they may see your good works, and glorify your Father which is in heaven.
-Matthew 5:14-16

Blah and I are teaching Sunday School at church to the 14ish year olds, and believe it or not, I love it. I am not that great of a teacher, but I absolutely love preparing the lessons. I love reading the New Testament, which is what we're teaching this year. I've never read it much, I hate to admit, but now that I'm really diving in it's really great stuff. We have one boy in our class who really inspires me. He hasn't been baptized because his parents don't want him to. His grandparents are members and great friends of my in-laws. This kid comes every week he's able to, which is most every week. He wants so much to be baptized and is just about the only one in our class who really talks or volunteers to read. He has a great testimony which he shared today as he spoke. He really impresses me and I hope he holds on until he's 18 and can be baptized. He has some rough adolescent years ahead of him, but I really think he has enough testimony to make him stick it out.

I haven't gotten too preachy on here or preachy at all. It's just not my style and it used to make me very uncomfortable when other people would do it. But since we started teaching earlier this year I have really felt my spirituality and testimony grow. I love my church. I love the feeling of peace and comfort I find. I love the hope. I love reading about Jesus Christ and seeing His message and the countless lessons to be learned. I love his Sermon on the Mount and the Beatitudes. It's Sunday so I thought I'd just share a little bit of this today and share a verse I love, one of our Scripture Mastery verses. I haven't worked on learning them, but I think I really want to.
