My real life blog is filled with all sorts of banality along with my million & one reasons why I love Kucinich & support him for president. I just feel the need to voice my thoughts on that here now.
In the last few days, all I've heard from the doings in NH is "change". I'm sick to death of that word. It's become like "freedom"... overused by all the wrong people til it has no meaning left in it. They've all but said, "My change is bigger than your change!" Give me a break. To be perfectly honest, when I listened to the debates Saturday, all I heard was "blah blah blah Change! blah blah." All 10 candidates sounded more or less the same. At least Ronn Paull was heard, even if I don't care for most of his policies. He's the Kooch of the right, bucking the mainstream party line.
Wouldn't it be nice if there were someone like that among the Democrats? How sad that ABC/Disney felt the need to censor him. I honestly from the bottom of my heart believe that it's because they see his message as a threat. If he were just this wacky UFO seein, sprout eatin, tree huggin nut job that they'd have you believe, there'd be no problem letting him expose himself for the kook he is. Let the crazy man have his say and out himself as the asylum patient he is.
But that's not the case. See, there's actual sense to what he says. People who actually take the time to listen to what he talks about really like what they hear. And what he's saying isn't "I'm going to Disneyland!" Nope. It's "NAFTA is really bad for human rights, the environment, and the economy and I want to end it so we can get rid of slave labor overseas that global conglomerates (Disney) depend on for their huge profits." It's not "Ask your doctor if Boniva is right for you!" It's "I want to eliminate the profit-motive from medicine and initiate non-profit universal health care for all."
Of COURSE that's going to piss off Disney/ABC/Eli Lilly/Humana. Of course they don't want his message heard. Of course they're going to do whatever they can to silence him. And believe me, in this day and age there is plenty that corporations can do, what with the monopolies & conglomerations concentrating the power & wealth of this country in the hands of precious few.
I love Dennis for speaking out for what's right. I love him for never giving in to special interests or giving up on the little guy (no pun intended). I love him for risking his life to an assassin's bullet for doing the right thing with Muni Light. I have every confidence that as President, he'd do the same.
Even if you don't agree with all of his policies and ideas, I hope you can at least respect him for being his own person, for not doing what a good little politician/democrat would do. I truly believe he'd take a bullet not for me personally, but for all the people like me out there, for all of us who don't have a voice among the elite of this country.
I don't exaggerate when I say he's my last hope for this country. I truly mean that with all my heart. I don't see another person who could possibly do what he does, who has the conviction & principles to do what needs to be done.
I love this man.
