We went to Borders last night. What I got pretty well sums me up in a nutshell.
Purchase #1: Why We Fight
I saw this documentary about a year ago. Before I saw it I knew this country was pretty messed up and had some really ugly sides. After I saw it I was fightin' mad (pun intended). It really opened my eyes and no doubt led me to seek out and embrace The Kooch.
Purchase #2: This American Life: Season 1
This is the Showtime TV version of my most favorite radio show ever. I haven't seen much of it yet, but I love the radio show so much I doubt I can go wrong. Plus, Ira Glass makes the hipster gals swoon. On a related note, my all-time favorite TAL, "Settling the Score," features Erin Einhorn talking about her Jewish family's connection to an apartment building and family in Poland. Well, she's written a book about it and it's coming out this fall. I highly recommend it, even though I haven't read it yet.
"Purchase #3": Lorax "I speak for the trees" gift card
These are special Earth Day cards Borders has. They just let Blah take one for me. It's kind of my new special ID card.
