My folks have been married 36 years today. I've been thinking back to their 30th anniversary. That was an awesome one for our family. My brother was living out in Colorado and was flying home to surprise our parents. I knew ahead of time and had a hard time keeping the secret when we were out for dinner at Dubas. I was grinning ear to ear and was trying to keep either of them from making plans over the weekend when Matt was going to be home.
I went to pick him up after work and bring him to our parents' house. On the way I told him exactly how they'd react to seeing him. My dad would cock his head and smirk and my mom would complain about not having known to put clean sheets on his bed. Sure enough they both did just what I thought. We had lots of fun that weekend and went kayaking on the Rouge River which is really more of a stream. Of course dad and Matt tipped their kayaks. They ended up drenched. Mom & I wanted to go to A&W for floats since it was such a nice day. Matt & Dad ended up freezing in the A/C.
I miss those days of being able to go out and do things in the summer. I miss Michigan.

That was one of the best anniversaries we have had in our 36 years of marriage. I am glad it was as special to you as it was for us.
I also wish you could be in Michigan too. I miss you so much.
