Seriously, folks... black???
This is my tiny little attempt at saving the planet. I don't try to fool myself into thinking that there are so many people reading this blog that they're digging Mother Earth's grave. I doubt the energy used could power an easy bake oven. However, a dark screen does use less energy than a bright one. I figured, why not switch. I am taking a poll to see what everyone thinks, if anyone even has an opinion on this inconsequential matter in such perilous times.

Can't hurt. Every little bit helps. If each of us did all of the "little things" it would add up to big savings. I have seen this at my school. It cost $ and uses energy to leave computer moniotors on when no one is using them - 1 penny a day per monitor- times several thousand monitors and pretty soon it adds up.
I love how much you are trying to be environmental. You really inspire me. Chet and I have changed our energy over to Green Mountain, if that helps. Also, have you read Blessed Unrest? It is an amazing book, all about the "green" movement.
I do what I can and I'd love to do Green Mountain or some other renewable energy. Our electric bills were about double what they should be for this apartment, but we finally got them to replace the AC a couple of months ago. With that fixed I'm hopeful we can switch.
