Don't it just figure...

Okay, so like my favorite singer/songwriter guy is totally Alexi Murdoch, right?  And, like he made this really awesome album that's all good and stuff.  Well, he's FINALLY touring.  (GET OUT!)  Only, it's with Alanis Morrisette, which is totally "whatever" cuz she's all lame and less fun than spending 12 hours in a bathroom with your husband and 2 cats.

Seriously, I'm really not happy about that.  I got a bulletin on the MySpace saying Alexi is touring and I nearly dropped a brick.  When I opened it up and saw it was with her I was really disappointed.  If Alexi came to Houston by himself he'd play some awesome little venue and tickets would be about $10 and 30 people would show up.  But no, he's opening for a "real" artist which makes two of the cheapest tickets $100 out the door.  Normally, I'd be all about going for the opening act like I did for the Spin Doctors a year or two ago.  But not for $100 right now.  It's just like James touring the US and not coming within 1000 miles of Houston.  I suppose next I'll see The Frames are going to be at The Intersection in Grand Rapids on my birthday with special guest Jeff Buckley with tickets going for $5 apiece and all that money being donated to The Elephant Sanctuary.  Oh, and they'd have the prettiest green lights all over the set.  And Ira Glass would be there to emcee along with Kucinich taking everyone on an all-expense paid mob-with-torches caravan to D.C. to round up the Bush administration.  Yeah, that would be my luck.
