Man, did we have fun yesterday. I owe a huge thanks to my new best friend Brandy who took all my phone calls yesterday and probably dealt with a whole lot of crap so Blah and I could play.
He made me breakfast in bed and I ate while we watched The Daily Show and Colbert Report. Then I dragged him to Discovery Green, this big park downtown I haven't been to before. It was already a million degrees so we didn't muck about there too long. We wandered around and saw most of it, I think. They were having this dog diving competition going on which we watched for a bit in the hopes we'd get one of the bottles of water they were passing out. Then we decided to go get wet in the giant sprinkler before wrapping up the rest of our wanderings.
We also went to see Food, Inc. The more I learn the more I realize that Monsanto is the devil incarnate. I will spare everyone a rant, but let's just say there's a doozy running through my mind right now.
We wrapped up the evening with a trip to Olive Garden. After seeing the movie I was definitely going veggie for dinner. It was clear that after all of our driving and outdoor fun, the evening was pretty much over. We made TWO trips into the big city which is about two more than we've made in our first 5 years being married. Wait, strike that. We made one trip a couple of years ago to see Henry Rollins.
All that was left was a trip to Barnes & Noble to dig through their clearance sale and then home to watch most of Dodgeball, which is kind of our movie.
It was a great day and Blah was a real sport about driving through downtown rush hour traffic. Believe it or not, Food Inc. isn't playing in Sugar Land. He put up with sun and heat to see me smile. I love him very much for it.
Happy Anniversary, My Love.
