Read This Book

Yesterday here in the office we had a short discussion about Supersize Me which made me bring up one of my favorite books of all time. Fast Food Nation is a fascinating critique of every aspect of fast food including employee wages, meat packers' working conditions, and artificial flavors. Supersize Me was an interesting experiment, but had nowhere the impact of Fast Food Nation. Everyone knows if you eat Big Macs every day for a month you're going to gain weight. But Fast Food Nation had so much good information that really surprised me. It really made me think about all the politics and reasons I don't have time to get into that keep me from eating fast food.
